Being refined by the fire with God’s love for us, him being pleased with us, and the Holy Spirit within us reminding us we belong to him and him only.
From day one when humans were first put on this planet by God, we were meant to walk with God in fellowship and do what he wanted us to do. We see this with Adam and Eve as they walked and talked to God knowing that he loved them and he was in control of what was to happen with any and all things. With this, we must walk with our eyes and ears toward him knowing that regardless of what is happening, God is still in control and he will protect and guide us, we just have to keep looking up and ignore the storms around us because Jesus our Lord and Savior can and will calm the storms in our lives. Walking and talking with God does not necessarily mean going your knees and praying, even though he wants that because that’s a form of humility we show him, we can pray at any time and any place. We can pray, talk, and walk with him at work, the gym, home, a restaurant, etc. as long as we praying and talking to him, it can be anywhere. When talking and praying to him, we are told to enter his throne room with confidence, thanksgiving, and praise.
When it comes to entering his throne room, some people may be intimidated to even start their conversation with God. This can be because they are afraid that he will get upset or that because he is God that he is in control of everything and is superior to everyone. Whatever it may be, people can be intimidated when it comes to prayer so much so that they stay in it long and don’t speak much waiting for to exact a punishment or a lashing of some sort when they approach him. This is not what God’s will for us is when it comes to prayer, he wants us to approach him exactly how we are knowing that we can bring to him any concern, issue, or disappointment we have and he will take care of it. When we pray, The Holy Spirit in us will confirm and remind our spirit that through the blood of Christ dying on the cross, we are his children through adoption by the blood spilled for us to live with him. Yes, God may have a punishment given to you if you rebelled against him, however like a good father and the good Heavenly Father he is, it is to correct us and he does this because he loves us.
Refinement through the fire of battles, trials, and punishment is how we learn God’s love for us. His punishment for things we do our of rebellion is his form of correction out of love because he wants us to live with him eternally. It is written that God punishes and corrects those whom he loves, and again, this is to show the righteous way of living with and for him. So, when you feel like God doesn’t love you or you are intimidated by going into his presence, let The Holy Spirit within remind you that God is pleased with us, love us, and through the blood of Jesus he adopted us. God will never leave you or not love you any less; since we are his children, when in need we can cry out to him saying “Abba, Father” showing that we recognize we need him in every moment. Don’t let the punishment he is giving you let you feel like he loves you less, let it remind you that yes you messed up and because he loves you he is correcting you so you may live with him and not sin any further. Also, do not let the battles of life make you think he abandoned you, gold is refined by fire and diamonds by pressure; battles are to refine us and to teach us in order to obtain that wisdom for later use. Remember, God loves you, just stay in pace with him and walking with him and everything will be Okay, Amen!
