New beginnings, how we wish we can have them all the time from when we mess up and pray for a do over to wanting to start something new and have it work out from the start. Some people, most people, wait until the new year in order to start new things, to follow their ideas and dreams, and to start getting rid of bad habits and unhealthy activities. until then, they continue in them until the new year, try to commit to them, and then either push through and see results or fall right back into those sinful and unhealthy habits. The thing though is every day is a chance a new for new beginning, regardless of what it is and what you will try to do in order to stick to it; most people will also do the same thing when it comes to running back to The Lord our God and great Heavenly father. They will say they will wait for the new year or until they get everything lined up and in a row so their lives won’t be a mess, little do they know your life will never be perfect and not everything will be entirely lined up so they never end up doing it.
When it comes to following God, he wants you right where you are to come to him, doesn’t matter what you have done or what you have in order and what you don’t have in order. You are never alone going to get everything in order because we are only human and things happen to us all the time regardless of your status or not; Jesus wants you to do the opposite of waiting to come to him. Jesus wants you to bring your mess to him, your insecurities, your sins, your problems, stresses, anxiety, and worries; he actually demands that we do this, not in a bad way, in a loving way so then he may bring peace and rest upon your soul. If you then say “well I have sinned too much” or “How can I? I am too unclean and sinful and have too many issues, I am broken, God can’t use me” then you need to read just the genealogy of Jesus’ family in Matthew 1. This genealogy consists of adulterous, murders, and prostitutes from the very beginning all the way up to Jesus’ birth; this proves and shows no matter what you have done, as long as you remain faithful to God, he can still use you.
With the beginning of this new year, we have the opportunity to start new things about ourselves, friends, relationships, and work ethic that we kept holding off until now. However, each day is a new beginning in order to start those things, each minute is as well because we are not promised tomorrow in any way. With this, make the decision to follow Jesus and accept him as your Lord and Savior, repent of your old ways, and watch as he shifts things around and makes your life clean. In order to make a new beginning, he will shift things in and out of your life including people, things, jobs, financially, and mentally. In order to start your new beginning with him, you have to get rid of the old. So, when your life seems to be on fire and people and things are coming and going, sit with Jesus and he will hug you, show you his love, comfort you, guide you, convict you, and most of all he will protect you from the enemy. Also remember, forest fires may seem bad and crazy and uncontrolled – and your life might at first – however, at the end it cleans the forest of bad debris, junk, shifts around seeds of different plants to grow, and it nourishes the soil since the sun can now reach it on top of removing things that could hurt the forest.
We may not like the fire or seasons we go through that seems like everything is crazy, but it’s too nourish the plans he has for our life. It’s to free us from things that would otherwise distract us, and it’s to make room for him to come in and clean up the rest of what was left behind. When everything is on fire, keep your cam, go to God form comfort, ask for the reason to be shown to you, and know he has this all under control – unlike a forest fire that we cannot really control. He loves and wants the best for you and sometimes that means lighting the match and letting the fire spread in order to see what needing to be nourished for so long. Trust him, Amen!
