Accepting God’s will and way for our lives rather than our own will and way, don’t make excuses on why you can’t do it either.
Our own way, we think this is the best way possible for any and all circumstances in life. If it be from experiences, we have had in the past or that we simply think that we know better on what to do and how to do it. It is human nature and a subconscious thought that we think that we know better and that our way is best, it is built in our minds to think like this. This kind of thinking can stop us from seeing from other perspectives in life and how to handle something from another viewpoint causing either a slow down or much bigger issues. What this must certainly can do by claiming our way is best is also hinder or stop us completely from living out God’s will for our life. We will think from time to time, especially in hard seasons, that God has no plan for us and has abandoned us to our own devices and thoughts to make up a plan for our lives. This is a lie that the enemy tries to get us to believe in order to ignore the calling on our life thus preventing us as a person from doing God’s work.
We have to say to God that it may be his will that will be done and not our own will and stick to that statement everyday knowing that he will guide us. Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior did this very thing as well in the Garden of Gethsemane when he prayed to Father God and asked that if there was any other possible way for this cup to pass from him. Being who he was though, he saw that the only way was through him with finally saying “Not my will but your will be done”, showing that not even Jesus was wanting this cup to be put on him and yet he conceded to God’s will knowing it was the best one. So often, we think that there might be other ways and other people who can do things when God has called us to do something that we start making those excuses. These excuses and trying to avoid our calling because of them are really just prolonging the inevitable of God working through us to expand the Kingdom through what he said he wants you to do. Moses did the same thing with God when he called him to go get Israel out of Egypt, he gave God 5 legitimate reasons as to why he wasn’t the best to do it.
These ranged from he couldn’t speak well to the people wouldn’t believe him to he simply didn’t want to do and wanted God to choose someone else. We may feel like Moses in these times because of the calling God has for us, however, we mis the point in God choosing the most unlikely people to do things when we only see from our standpoint. Only one, one person ever was perfect and that being Jesus and yet we still see how he didn’t want to take the cup that was going to be given to him. It isn’t through strength that God’s strength is shown to the world, others, and us; it’s our time of weakness and insecurity that his strength shows and shines through us enabling us and others to see him come through. When we start doing what God has called us to do, we might get some full of ourselves sometimes that we will say we will never leave him and lose focus on his strength and focus on our strength. When we do that, we will lose our strength and backslide, we cannot do that as it is a dangerous and slippery slope in which we fall from.
So, when we encounter things, God wants us to do and we start thinking of reasons as to not do it or think our way is better, ask God to help you see it from his perspective. Focus on his strength, character, attitude, and will so you do not fall off course and get off track. Do not try to make excuses as to why God cannot use you for what he has planned for you, he knows all of your issues and inconsistences and yet still wants you to do it. Give him your plans and ideas and submit yourself unto him and watch as he takes care of everything. He will be with you through life’s storms and battles taking care of you and everything, trust him with everything entirely. May God bless you and keep you, Amen!
