The words we speak and our tone can affect our lives and the lives of others around us.
Words, we speak nearly 16,000-17,000 a day and all can and have reflected the kind of person we are or the kind of day we are having. Words are used to communicate, express emotion, and have power behind them from whomever is speaking them into existence. Words can be encouraging, or they can be discouraging, how we speak these words into existence depends on the outcome we will have. Most people, sometimes even Christians, will say words have no affect for they are just that, words and nothing more. The words Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior spoke to people around him and his word today being the Bible still hold their power. Words aren’t just empty and meaning less, they have a meaning and power behind them that can lift people up or being them down. Jesus shows us how to use our words while also being careful on what words we speak and how we say them to ensure the proper meaning and power behind them.
Some of the first words we hear as children are the words of correction and wisdom from our parents and those older or more experienced than us. Children learn from their parents and those around them as their brain becomes like a sponge for activity and engagement in the early years of life and learning. We are told that parents are to teach their children any and all wisdom they that they can pass down in order to ensure their children will grow old and wise. Now the children, whether like it or not, are supposed to take that wisdom and learn from their mistakes. Children will rebel from time to time and yet we are to be patient and loving toward them and wait for them to be calm in order to pass the wisdom we have for them to learn. Along with hearing and listening to wisdom, we are supposed to live out what we have been taught in order to live a God pleasing life with following his commands and will for our lives.
Seek and gain wisdom and understanding and it is written “She’ll make your life glorious. She’ll garland your life with grace. She’ll festoon your days with beauty’ (vv.8–9, MSG)”. Seek out wisdom and your days will be numerous as the Lord will give you wisdom through his grace and love in order to ensure you a long, fulfilled, joyous, and prosperous life. We obtain wisdom in order to look back on our lives and say that we are happy of what we have made of it and have no regrets when we are about to pass and make our final move up to Heaven, our home with our Heavenly Father God. In order to keep this wisdom, we must hold to heart the words of Jesus Christ and make sure they are inscribed on the tablet of our hearts. In this world, people will grow cold to Jesus and his word, forgetting love, perverting justice and cause many issues within the world. In these times, we must hold on to Jesus’ words more than ever and spread them to others to encourage them with what they need to hear and show them his love and forgiveness for them.
Ask God to grow your heart to the point where when you wake up in the morning, you first thoughts are how you can bless someone else today. The other words we must watch for are those of people who claim to be Jesus himself as his second return grows nearer and nearer. We are to discern these prophecies to ensure we do not fall into the trap of following these false gods as they lead us to the enemy. Discern within your spirit the words they are speaking and figure out the power behind them and see if they are good or bad powers. The kind of power behind any word can immediately change its meaning and who will receive in certain ways, watch out for these people and how they sooth others, even God’s chosen, to follow them. In the end, be careful of what you say and how you take other people’s words around you. Listen to wisdom from others in order to repeat mistakes or to learn new things and new ways to ensure a prosperous life for not just you but for those who you will influence.
Ask God to give you words to speak in order to speak kindly when you cannot think of anything to say or anything nice to say. Remember to speak life to situations that may even be in the darkest of dark areas, give it life and light and watch as God changes it around. Do not use empty words toward people or threats in order to get your way, pray to God in order to do what is right and just while not complaining about the outcome. And be thankful, one of the most words we can speak and say are praises and prayers to God above who deserves the praise and glory and who also hears our prayers. Allow him to change your heart and ask him to guide you mouth and tongue to speak kind words, the tongue might be the smallest muscle in the body but it’s the most powerful. Give God your thoughts and words and watch as he changes things around and gives you heavenly thoughts and things to say; trust him entirely, may God bless you and keep you, Amen!
