Seeing the results of the cross and Jesus dying on it for our good
Blindness, no one wants to be blind, we all want to see in order to experience the great things that life has in store for us. It doesn’t matter what kind of blindness it might be from partial blindness, color blindness, or full blindness. We all want to experience things and blindness is just a big hinder to that in order to see what it is going on in the world around us. Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior wants the same for us in our Spirituality, wishing for us to not be spiritually blind. When we are spiritually blind, it is hard to impossible to see the love God has for us because we simply cannot see the purpose and results of the cross. Being Spiritually blind can be and is dangerous to our walk with Christ in order to fulfill the life he has in store for us.
This blindness can prohibit us from having a proper relationship with God since we cannot see the need for the cross and then the need for a Savior. In which case, do what Bartimaeus did and ask God for the eyes and ears to see and hear the purpose for the cross. Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior came down to suffer and to serve us in order to be reconciled with God. Jesus did not come in order to be served like how a king would, he came in order so that we may live with him and God for eternity. This can be hard to see if our hearts are hard and are not able to melt in God’s presence, but instead become clay allowing nothing to seep in. Having this hard heart prevents us from seeing God’s love in everything that was done, preventing us from having a proper relationship with God.
It may not even be that we cannot see the results knowing that we are forgiven, however, we just simply do not feel like we are forgiven. Jesus died as the substitute for our place and yet for some reason we can feel like we still have to work in order to be forgiven. This can be dangerous since we will try and try to work for our own forgiveness and salvation instead of taking the salvation that is handed to us for free. We will keep working and working for something we cannot obtain by our own means, and then we will work ourselves to the point of death and despair, Jesus wants us to do the exact opposite. All Jesus wants us to do is to realize that he suffered for us, was our substitute, and is our Savior through his suffering and dealing with God’s wrath.
We must see the reason of his death in order to have the proper relationship with him, this can only be done once we realize that we cannot earn our salvation by our means. You can trust and know that he took upon himself the wrath of God that we deserved in order to live with him. It can be hard to see that because we are so convinced in our ways that we have to do something for it, and we do, that is to follow him with everything and deny our sinful selves. Other than that, we cannot do enough things in order to make ourselves right with God, we can pray and ask for forgiveness. It doesn’t matter how people you gave money to, how many charities you donated to, or how many people you helped to find God. You must still trust and see the purpose of the cross and what it has done for you through the person who died on it for you. If you are blind to that and having a difficult time of doing that, do not worry, many people are because of how this world has done things to us. I myself am having that same issue – at the time of writing this – all I can do and what you can do is to pray.
Pray that God will help you to see the purpose and the love that was demonstrated on the cross through Jesus dying on it. Pray that he opens your Spiritual eyes and your heart to the purpose and reason to his death. Pray that he will guide you in order to experience the full and great life that he has in store for you. Pray that he will make the pain make sense in order for you to see that it was not a waste of time and tears. Pray that in the end of it and the middle of the store, that is he everlasting love and peace be there to comfort and protect you, physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. May God bless you and keep you. Remember to trust him entirely with everything, Amen.
