The importance of spending with Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior in order to relax and listen with him in turn building your relationship with him.

Time alone, what a great thing to have whether it literally be alone and only yourself or with someone whom you love and care about, time alone is great. There is no better way to know someone better than to spend time alone with them with no distractions, just you and them and nothing and no one else. This can get difficult in today’s world with so many distractions, things needing to get done, and then if you have children, attending to their needs as well. This can get difficult and more difficult as time goes on and can range from merely a couple minutes to a couple hours if you are lucky. One thing we must try to do daily it spend some time alone, even a couple minutes, with Jesus in order to better hear him and to know him.

Spending time with our Lord and Savior can help us and refresh our weary souls from a day of constant business and constant issues. Making time for him and seeking his guidance in what is currently on your mind and happening in your home can ensure that you do not lose sight and foot of him. Doing so can ensure that you are spiritually grounded, helping yourself and others in accomplishing what needs to get done at the current time. Receiving this time is a gift and pivotal to our relationship with Jesus in order to understand his lessons, voice, and love for us better and better each and every day. The constant business of this world can prevent that from time to time in which you may realize that you didn’t have as good of a day you wanted to have since you didn’t get time alone with God. Spending this time with him, even a couple minutes to hours, can help us feel rested as he takes the burdens off of us and our souls while rejuvenating our spirits.

There is saying and it shows why resting is so important for our walk that even Jesus did it daily and with his disciples, “If the devil can’t make you sin, he will keep you busy”. Being busy is a tactic that the enemy uses in order to prevent us from seeing God and communicating with him. If we do not communicate and spend time with God, we do not receive the help, direction, and strength needed to keep going. One thing may lead to another and next thing you know, you feel so far away from God you are plagued with the lie of “why keep trying to go back to him?” The Israelites in Exodus 31 did this exact thing, they strayed away from God and started to worship their own gods and idols while Moses was gathering instructions from the only God. Find space and time to talk to God to help you through life, even if it’s just reading your bible a couple minutes a day.

Do not think you have to have big things and accomplishments in order to receive God and what he has in store for you, he actually wants the complete opposite. God wants us to come to him the way we are and spend time with him with the very little things that we have. Not only does he want this to give us the life he has for us but wants to use it to bless us so then we give him the credit and have more people come to a relationship with him. Throughout the whole bible, even with Jesus, we see God turning basically absolutely nothing into something grand and spectacular. Spend time with God, bring to him everything that is on your mind from your desires, wishes, concerns, issues, and anything else.

In this time, watch and relax as he allows your soul to reset in order to feed it with his love and grace and know that you are loved and forgiven by what Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior has done for you on the cross. Allow him to clear your mind and instill the proper desires, love, attitude, and things for the life he has for you and do it daily. Doing it daily with keep you grounded and ensure that you will not leave when life gets tough on you and go back to your old sinful ways. Remember that your dollar menu items are what God wants in order to turn them into something great and grand for the Kingdom and for you. Allow him to transform everything and take control knowing things will be Ok, may God bless you and keep you, Amen!
