Making the proper and right decisions for our lives to do what God has called us to do.
We make thousands of decisions in our everyday lives from when we wake up, to what we eat to that next important business decision. We take these paths where the decision leads us and it is either the right or wrong path that we end up on. This is where we need wisdom in order to understand how to handle the twists and turns that life will inevitably throw at us and can test our character and knowledge about what we are doing. Wisdom is how we navigate these roads in life, making the right decisions in order to live a God lead and purpose fulfilling life. Wisdom is given freely by God to those who revere him and obey him while trusting their life in him, he gives this freely in order to keep us safe from this world and its schemes and from the enemy who is prowling around to devour us.
There are some obvious wrong turns in life that can have a disastrous ending to them if we follow through, one is adultery. Simply comitting this can get you hooked to doing it whenever, with whomever, and however you want leading to a life of sinful desires. This ultimately, if not changed and repented of, can lead to the eternal death that God does not desire us to have and what our souls were not made to be in. Adultery is one of the deadly sins since you ignore the marriage covenant you and your spouse made to God. This, however, is not the only wrong turn we can make; these turns can be from what we say, to what we do, to what we think and then act on. Saying the wrong thing can throw everything into a spiral if said to the wrong person and the same thing with our actions. This is why we must seek God and ask for wisdom in order to avoid these situations and let him guide us down the righteous path he wants us on.
This path will include us to make plans out of wisdom and not sinful pleasures and desires from the world. We must give our plans to God and when he interrupts our plans, we must still have faith knowing its for our good. God will interrupt our plans and see how we respond, if it be knowing its for our good and to still do what he has called us to do, or if we stop and complain about our situation. We must still go forward with love and compassion knowing that it all has a reason to it, whether it be to teach us or to prepare us. One major example of this is Joseph, he was sold into slavery, falsely accused of rape, and then into a prison. God had a reason to all of this though, it was to prepare him for the future that he had in store for him while also helping him to lose his pride and humble himself.
As we know, Joseph’s talent and wisdom was noticed by Pharaoh, and in return, Pharaoh made him second in command of Egypt. It might take time, but the twists and turns with challeneges in life all have their reason given to them by God who does care for us. We will be given bad and good days in our lives, how we handle them and what we learn from them determines if we are ready for what God has in store. God sees how long it will take for you to learn, so don’t think that its taking too long or he isn’t doing anything and it will be too late. Ask him to show you what he is teaching you and for the wisdom from it.
Trust him with everything that you have and that he wants to give you. God will take care of the rest while giving you wisdom to navigate the life he has planned for you. Remember that he gives wisdom to those who love and revere him, seek earnestly and know he is with you. Trust him with everything and know everything is Okay, Amen!
