What is in your heart is what you will speak and do.

In our everyday life, we will speak thousands upon thousands of words and not give much thought to them and what we are speaking. We can be speaking both life and death over situations and think about it twice since to use they are just words, right? We are told countless times in our lives and numerous times in the bible what we speak will come to pass, words do have power over situations. This begs the question, are you speaking life or are you speaking death when it matters most? Jesus tells us that we speak is from the overflow of our hearts, whether positive or negative, what comes out is what is deep down inside. If our hearts are healthy and fill of joy and love, we will speak in such a way. If they are sick, negative, and fill of hatred, we will speak in this way as well with destructive words and a destructive attitude.

The overflow shows what is deeply hidden in the inside of hearts, it leads to our innermost being and shows the type of person we are. Our hearts should be like Jesus’ our Lord and Savior, whose heart was full of love, compassion, grace, mercy, peace, and joy. To ensure a healthy heart, soul, and spirit, we should store God’s word on our heart as we are shown time and time again of people describing themselves “inscribing his word” on their heart. We should do this to not just keep his commandments but to also have our heart be full of his word, wisdom, peace, joy, and love when we are going to need it. We are promised by God that if we do these very things of reading his word and praying to him, he himself will give us wisdom and these gifts of peace, joy, and love. Apply his teaching to your life and he will guard you, give you victory, discretion, and numerous other things that this world can try to do but will ultimately fail. Let you heart be filled not just by his words but by his Holy Spirit whom he also promises us that he will give us, not as a feeling or spirit, but as a friend and being who is always with us.

Let The Holy Spirit in your heart and watch him do what you previously thought would never happen. From healing, to changing your habits, to making you feel overwhelmed with joy, love, and peace. The Holy Spirit will help us guard our hearts from the evils in this world that will try to infiltrate once more to influence back to your sinful habits and ways. We must be careful of what we watch, hear, talk about, and even think about; if we can think it, the thought will eventually be sponged into hearts leading it to sickness once more. Allow The Holy Spirit to overflow your heart with the gifts of God of a good fruit bearing tree, and you will feel free from your sins and be abounding with joy. Keep his word in your heart to speak life over situations, even ones of persecution, and to speak life to those who might persecute you as well. Keeping his word in your heart is keeping a firm foundation when we face the tough battles of life that we are promised in the bible.

When facing said storms, remember what you have read, what God has done that he has promised, and what he can do since he is in ultimate control. Look to him for your help when these challenges appear, still pray to him, and still seek him earnestly knowing that he hears you. Jacob in Genesis prayed to God when he was in dire situations and when he thought his brother, Esau, was coming after him. That didn’t stop him from praying, but instead lead him to where he wrestled with God himself and got his name of Israel because he was determined to be blessed by God. His consequence was a dislocated hip, however, God did bless him with what he asked for and now he had the reminder of whom blessed him negating any self-pride or disobedience.

Wrestle with God in prayer, pray earnestly and ask persistently like we are told to do, not babbling on repeating the requests over and over. We are told to persistently ask and pray about subjects that we have a desire for, ask them once or twice in each prayer if they come, not making the whole prayer about them like pagans. Remember God’s promises as you pray and bring them up as well. God may bless you with your petition and desires at the cost of a thorn in your flesh to remind you of who blessed you to negate self-pride. Always pray from the Spirit and not the flesh for the flesh comes up with horrible schemes and ideas, and remember to always fill your heart with God’s word. Do this expecting his promises and watch him change your situation around and stick with him in order to know his heart and will for your will.

The overflow of our hearts should always be of good cheer, nice, joy, and speaking life to situations even if they may seem dead. Have faith in these times and know the promises God made you and remember the ones that he has kept so long ago to so many people. He might not have said when he will accomplish what he promised, but we do know that he will keep his promises as he has done before, God is not concerned about time in any way. God is always on time and never late or early with the right provision and the right attitude and peace for you. So, when praying for something or a situation to change, do not speak death over it saying it might not or will not happen. Speak life to it and pray for it to change to God while knowing that he has heard you, wrestle with him prayer and cling to him to know his heart. He has everything under control, so everything will be Okay, Amen!!!!
