- God gave Adam a partner, Eve.
- We are the loneliest generation.
- We need to be connected to grow.
- We need people to help us and also have Enthusiastic traits like us for God.
- We also need people who are just as committed if not more in God as well.
Communion is needed everywhere, and everyone needs it.
Communion; let’s look at the definition of this word for context. Communion means:
The sharing or exchanging of intimate thoughts and feelings, especially when the exchange is on a mental or spiritual level.
In a sense, it means to be one with someone in thoughts, feelings, and in spirit; these all play a vital role in our walk with God and our walk to become righteous with him. We all needed communion from the very start of life from the very beginning of the world, don’t believe me? Look at Genesis 2:18:
Then the Lord God said, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him.”
Genesis 2:18 from Bible.com
Yes, we do depend on God as our Heavenly Father to provide for us and to take care of us in times of trouble and in need as we pray for the things we need and petition him with our desires – which he does make his desires our desires as well. We also depend on each other in order to succeed in this walk with him to strengthen our faith in him in order to fulfill the call he has placed over our lives. Yet so many people don’t have communion with each other let alone God himself, we are the loneliest generation despite having all these ways to connect with each other at our fingertips. Is that the problem? Is the instant communication on our phones the issue? Perhaps, why would I go outside to see people when I can see what they are doing on social media in an instant? Technology is great but, it can also have it downfalls with isolating people from going outside and making meaningful relationships when the dopamine hit can come at an instant from your fingertips.
Since we no longer really make meaningful relationships with each other, we forgot what it is like to have and make a relationship with God, our Heavenly Father. We can ignore his calls for us to return to him or to pray and communicate with him because he doesn’t have a snapchat profile we can message or an Instagram account to follow for pictures. This leads to not knowing his love for us while, something he truly desires all of us to experience with him. He made us to depend on not just him but one another both in friendships and in relationships, he gave Adam a helper in the form of Eve. God knew we needed community in our walk of life, he knew this from the very beginning and yet it still is very important today. From birth we are immediately dependent and crave the attention for that dependence from the first cry we make to when we are fed and loved by our parents.
A verse that shows to have community with others that are just as enthusiastic and committed to following God just as we are; Proverbs 27:17 as it states:
Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another. Proverbs 27:17

And other quote about having close friends that are like brothers and sisters to us; this even includes our actual brothers and sisters I would think.
A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity. Proverbs 17:17
Proverbs 17:17 from Bible.com
We are supposed to have a community of followers that have equal if not stronger strengths in faith and in Christ with varying backstories, testimonies, and wisdom in order to grow as a community. So, in your walk in this life, make friends, find the will God has for you by spending the much-needed time with him daily – even if just reading your bible for 15 minutes a day – and watch how he will change you. If you friends don’t believe, encourage them and help become one with God and pray that he does the work in their heart. Trust him entirely with your plans and pray for the proper relationships so you may have the proper communion to grow and be who he called you to be. Shalom and Amen.
